Allen R. Bilger, 70, of 1165 Penn St., passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Lewisburg, a son of Venetta (Gotshall) Bilger, of Watsontown and the late Kenneth B. Bilger.

On Nov. 30, 1963, he married the former Giuseppina "Josie" Reitenbach who survives. Together they celebrated 51 years of marriage.

Allen was a 1962 graduate of Lewisburg High School and was a veteran of the Air Force.

He was employed for nearly 30 years as a police officer and corrections officer at numerous police departments and prisons.

He attended the New Hope Lutheran Brethren Church, Lewisburg and was a life member of the NRA.

Allen loved hunting, shooting and fishing. He was also fond of showing his 1987 Dodge Ram Pickup truck at auto shows. Most of all, Allen loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and attending their sporting events.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one daughter, Pam Delcamp, of Mifflinburg; one son, Kevin Bilger, of Milton; three siblings, Kenneth E. Bilger and his wife, Carolann, of Shamokin Dam, Sharon Frykman, of Lewisburg, and Donald E. Bilger, of Milton; five grandchildren, Felicia, Tierra, Schai, Travis and Anthony; and four great-granddaughters.
