With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Angela Maria Zamichieli, affectionately known as “Angie,” who entered eternal rest on May 31, 2026, in San Diego, California, at the age of 69.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to James A. and Irene Robinson Zamichieli, Angie was a woman of strength, determination, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. From an early age, she displayed the ambition and caring spirit that would define her life and leave a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Angie proudly became the first member of her family to pursue higher education, attending Pierce Junior College. Her dedication and perseverance led her to a distinguished career in law enforcement. After beginning her service with the Queens Police Department in New York, she relocated to San Diego, where she faithfully served the community for 27 years with the San Diego Police Department. Her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to public service earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and community members alike.

While Angie was proud of her career, her greatest accomplishment and deepest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother whose love for her daughter, Alexandria “Lexi” Zamichieli, knew no bounds. The bond they shared was built on unconditional love, unwavering support, laughter, and countless cherished memories that will be treasured forever.

Angie also shared a loving companionship with Richard “Ricky” Smallwood, whose presence brought comfort, happiness, and friendship throughout the years.

Outside of work, Angie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan, an avid reader, a lover of music, and someone who cherished spending time with family and friends. Her warm smile, gentle spirit, sense of humor, and caring heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Angela was preceded in death by her father, James A. Zamichieli, and her beloved sisters, Iris Zamichieli and Judith Young.

She leaves behind her loving daughter, Alexandria “Lexi” Zamichieli; her devoted mother, Irene Zamichieli; her siblings Jimmy Zamichieli, Mark Zamichieli, Cindy Zamichieli, Adrian Zamichieli, Edward Zamichieli, Pamela Zamichieli, Valerie Gordon, Troy Zamichieli, and Hope Perry; her longtime companion, Richard “Ricky” Smallwood; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, generosity, and love.

Though she is no longer with us in body, Angela’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her life was a testament to perseverance, service, compassion, and the enduring power of love.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever missed.
