Arthur G. Solkema, 94, of San Diego died Saturday. He was born in Michigan. Mr. Solkema was employed as an automobile mechanic with a Texaco service station. He belonged to San Diego First Assembly of God Church, and was a 20-year member of the San Diego Police Reserve.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Solkema; daughters, Geraldine Jones of Clinton, Mo., and Cathy Grantham of Anchorage, Alaska; son, Arthur Solkema Jr. of El Cajon; sister, Dorothy Hart of Vancouver, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
