Boyd Schwartz, 87, born in Eagle Bend, Minnesota, passed away on August 6, 2009.

Following moves to Tulane, LA, and back to Minnesota, the family moved to San Diego in 1940 where Boyd worked at Consolidated Aircraft until he joined the Navy in 1942.

During World War II, he saw action on both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and was honorably discharged December 1945.

He joined the San Diego Police Department in 1948 and retired after 28 years of service.

He went to work as a private investigator and later as security for S.D. City Schools. He moved on to become a U.S. Marshal where he protected the Federal Courts until retiring in 1996.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia, daughters Joanne and Nancy, grandsons Miles and Brandon, stepdaughters Louise, Carole, Ingrid (Todd) and Elke (Rigo), stepgrandchildren Richard, Brett, Tabitha, Todd Jr., Emilio, Enissia, Ofelia and Eliana, sister Devona, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack and nephew Michael . Services at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on August 21, 2009, at 9:00 a.m.
