Carl Eugene Batts, 75, of El Cajon died Thursday. 

He was born in Chicago and was a loan officer for San Diego-area banks.  He served in the Army during the Korean War. 

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and a volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul Village.

Survivors include his wife, Claudia Batts; daughters, Peggy Gonzalez of San Antonio, Janet Rasco and Elizabeth Morelli of San Diego, Christine Hunter of Houston and Nora Normand of El Cajon; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
