Deputy Director Weiss served the San Diego Police Department from 2007 - 2018 and worked Central, Western, Traffic, and Communications Divisions.

Prior to working for SDPD, Deputy Director Weiss worked 4 years with the California State University Police Department at Cal Poly, SLO, while attaining his degree in City and Regional Planning.

He now works for the Governor's Office of Emergency Services, as a Deputy Regional Administrator covering State response to emergencies in the southern half of California, and is obtaining his Masters Degree in Disaster Management & Emergency Services from the University of Florida.

He was a Charter Member of the California State Law Enforcement Historical Society, and has always had an interest in preserving and learning from the past.
