David L. Pearston, 71, of Weatherford, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014.
Mr. Pearston was born Feb. 10, 1943 to William Miles and Mable Lura Morgan Pearston in Pampa. He grew up and attended school in Skellytown. After graduating from high school Pearston enlisted in the United States Navy as a corpsman and received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism.
Once discharged from the Navy he trained at the San Diego Police Academy and served as a San Diego police officer for 20 years, retiring as a sergeant. He obtained a master's degree in public administration from the National University.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alyssah Freeman.
Survivors include his daughter, Dawn Freeman and husband, Mitch; son, Don Pearston; grandchildren, Hannah Morgan Freeman and Kai Leon Pearston; special friend, Dora Belew; special cousin, Joyce Huffman and husband, Jack; and many other extended family members and friends.
