DETECTIVE EARL M. WALL
BADGE 187
SDPD 11/17/1941 - 11/171966
03/03/1914 - 11/27/1999
Earl was born in Cardiff "By The Sea" California.

He passed away at the age of 85 at Sharp Hospital the night of Nov. 27. He had been battling the effects of Alzheimers.

Earl retired in 1966 after working 25 years for the San Diego Police Dept.

He was one of the most handsome, honest and respected police officers San Diego every had.

Earl was very well liked by everyone he came to know. His sense of humor endured to the very end. He had a great love for his cabin in Idyllwild, horse racing and body surfing. He dearly loved those horses.

Oh, how he could body surf. As a young boy he was a competitive swimmer at the old Belmont Plunge in Mission Beach, where he won many ribbons and medals. We'll miss him dearly.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Ina, daughter Gail, son Gary, daughter-in-law Maureen and 3 grandchildren: Kevin Ruhge, M.D., and 3 year old twins Sarah and David Earl Wall.
