Edwin Stanton "Eddie" Boyce, Jr., retired Detective, San Diego Police Department, age 83 of Dallas, Georgia, and former resident of Sun City, California passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017.  He was born in Rock Island, Illinois and relocated with his family to San Diego, California. Prior to his career with the San Diego Police Department, he attended San Diego State College and also served in the US Navy.

A memorial service was held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 11th at the Carmichael Funeral Home Chapel in Smyrna.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma P. Boyce, daughters Karen Boyce Taylor of Smyrna, Kathy Boyce Johnson of Smyrna, Kelly Boyce Merriott of Rockwall, Texas, brother James A. Boyce and wife Beverly, Rancho Santa Fe, California, brother Jon Boyce, Oceanside, California, grandchildren Christopher Taylor and Brittany Taylor of Smyrna, Karly Merriott of Rockwall, Texas, nephew David Boyce of Carlsbad, California, niece Dr. Jennifer Boyce Hendriks of Canberra, Australia, great niece and nephew, Claire Boyce and Nolan Boyce of Carlsbad, California and several cousins.
