Franklin Kral, Jr, age 78, of Grants Pass, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.

A Celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Hull & Hull Chapel. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.

Frank was born April 27, 1936 in Washington D.C. He was a 35 year veteran of the San Diego Police Department, retiring in 1992. Married 55 years, Frank and his wife lived in Oregon since 1993. He was an EMT and wilderness medicine instructor, and a captain in the California Army National Guard.

Frank and his wife dedicated 20 years as volunteers for Jackson County Sheriff’s K9 Search and Rescue Team.

He was an avid bowler and a member of the United States Bowling Congress. Frank took pride in scoring a perfect game at the age of 74.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Kral of Grants Pass; a son, John Kral of San Diego, California; a daughter, Lauren Van Sickle of Medford, Oregon; a sister Joan Even of California, Maryland and three grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
