Services for Jake M. Cardenez, 64, of East San Diego, were yesterday in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Rogers Mortuary was in charge. He died Friday in a hospital.

Mr. Cardenez, a native of New Mexico, lived in the county 63 years. He was a retired San Diego Transit District bus driver and a retired police-reserve lieutenant.

Survivors include his wife, Margie; three sons, Manuel Alvarez, Jake Cardenez and Valentino Cardenez, all of San Diego; a stepson, Michael Stevenson of Texas; five daughters, Lucita Keaton, Barbara Purcell, Paulita Lamzzyk and Rebecca Cardenez, all of San Diego, and Teresa Seals of South Carolina; and a sister, Lucita Lasala of the Philippines.
