Merle L. Meyers, 84, of Lakeside died Tuesday.

He was born in National City. Mr. Meyers was retired after working as an officer and fingerprint expert for the San Diego Police Department.

He belonged to Silvergate Masonic Lodge 296 and the Retired Police Officers Association.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Meyers; daughters, Marjorie Meyers of La Mesa, Linda Finch of El Cajon and Katherine Caric of Bakersfield; sons, Michael Meyers of Oceanside and Robert Combs of Alaska; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
