"Mike was my training officer when I first went to Traffic Div. He was a great guy, and will be sadly missed. He finished his law enforcement career as a CSO with SDSO, working for my brother out of Santee Traffic. He only retired from there a short time ago, and was diagnosed with cancer. Rest in Peace Mike."

I was sorry to hear of Mike's passing. For the record, to best of my knowledge:

I trained Mike when he came to the Motor Squad, at the San Diego "Jack Murphy Stadium", East lot. I am guessing around the early 80's. Motors was about forty officer strong at that time. We were riding the Kawasaki 1000 at the time. Mike is featured with us as the 1986 Motor Squad, on page 270 of the 1886-1986 San Diego Police Department album.

I transferred to detectives on January 28th and believe Mike was still on Motors at that time. Mike was a good rider and fit into the group well. He was a quiet guy as I recall but easy to talk with, had a good sense of humor and performed well.
