A quote from Commissioner Nancy Gardner who founded the award winning California Mortgage Consultants in 1994 after working for 10 years in Real Estate and lending as a top producer. Commissioner Gardner was a broker at Coldwell Banker Commercial where she had been "Rookie of the Year" and received the "Distinguished Achievement Award" prior to going into lending. Working first for two banks and a mortgage company, Commissioner Gardner was in the top 10% nationally as a direct lender and consistently the top producer as a mortgage broker. While developing strong name recognition in the industry, Commissioner Gardner focused on the jumbo purchase market, first along the Southern California coast and later expanded to all of California, building a strong base of referrals from real estate agents and prior clients. 100% of the California Mortgage Consultants clients are referrals.

Prior to Real Estate and Lending, Commissioner Garnder was sales manager for Xerox Corporation where she also did sales training and new product launching. At Xerox, Commissioner Gardner was a consistent President's Club and Par Club Winner recognized nationally for her sales performance.

Commissioner Gardner has a Masters in Education, a Real Estate Broker's License, CCIM designation classes, several post graduate management development classes and her Notary designation. She is often called upon to teach seminars on various, marketing, sales, and real estate finance topics. She is a radio commentator on the Rick Amato Show (a.m.1170) with her daily "Market View" where she gives information on market and economic conditions and how they affect Real Estate and Lending. 

Commissioner Gardner is actively involved in the community. She is currently a member (former) director of La Jolla Rotary, a graduate of the F.B.I's Citizen Academy, a trustee on the La Jolla Town Council and on the coastal access and traffic board, a member of the Women's Council of Realtors, the La Jolla Real Estate Broker's Association, the San Diego Board of Realtors, the Mission Bay Realtors Association, the Lincoln Club of San Diego, which strives to improve the economic and educational environment in San Diego, the City Club, the California Association of Realtors, the Better Business Bureau and the La Jolla Rotary Club. She is active with Project Mercy and fund raising for micro credit loans for poor families in Africa. Commissioner was awarded a Republican of the Year award for California in 2006. She was featured on the program "Women" and took fifth nationally as an age group competitor in the U.S. Triathlon Series where she also qualified for  Ironman.  Commissioner Gardner is a regular Guest Editor for the La Jolla Village News writing about Real Estate and Lending in this political/economic environment. In her spare time Commissioner Gardner loves to read, travel, hike, swim, scuba and ski.
