Ralph passed on August 25.

He grew up in Richmond, Virginia and came to San Diego with his family in 1951.  Ralph attended Benedictines Military Academy in Richmond Va. and graduated from Hoover High School in San Diego.

Ralph served in the U.S. Air Force for three years in Europe.

He retired as a Detective from the San Diego Police Department after 20 years of service. He continued in law enforcement working for the District Attorney’s offices in San Francisco and Sonora Counties.

Ralph was an avid golfer. He had been a member of the old Stardust Country Club and Shadowridge Golf Club. Along with his wife Deborah, he traveled to golf venues in the US, Canada and Europe.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Deborah Jaffe (Grummett), his granddaughter Katrina, great Grandsons-Jackson, Cameron, and Colton, and his cousins Allen and Larry Jaffe.

Ralph’s parting words were, “I came, I lived and boy did I live, and then I went! “
