Latent Print Examiner Richard (Rick) William Houle, 67, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2008 at his home in Fallbrook, CA, after a lengthy battle with cancer. 

Rick had retired from the San Diego Police Department last June.

His career in law enforcement spanned over 43 years, starting as a police officer with the San Bernardino Police Department.  Rick worked as a Supervising Forensic Specialist with the San Bernardino Sheriff's Office before coming to the San Diego Police Department.

He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Leta, who is also a Latent Print Examiner with SDPD.
