Feb. 28, 1935-April 16, 2005 Robert McDonald, 70, of San Diego died Saturday. 

He was born in Detroit and was a retired San Diego police officer. 

He served in the Navy during the Korean War.

Survivors include his daughters, Heather Smothers, Debra McDonald and Kathleen Matthews; sons, Robert McDonald, Douglas McDonald and Bruce McDonald; sisters, Claire McDonald and Mary Ellen Rhodes; and six grandchildren.
