San Diego Union-Tribune, The (CA) - October 14, 2009

Robert L. Perkins (Bob), 64, died in his home in Ramona, on October 5, 2009.

He was born in 1945 to the late Margaret and Harold Perkins.  He graduated from Helix High School in 1962, served as a Police Cadet and then joined the San Diego Police Department in 1967.

Bob, a native of San Diego, lived in his beloved Ramona home. He survived many wildfires, but one destroyed his home. After rebuilding, Bob's home and big screen TV once again became a central sports and gathering spot for family and friends.

He retired from the Police Department in 1998 with the rank of Sergeant.  Bob was admired and respected by those who worked with him and for him.

Bob is survived by his son Jim Perkins and his family; sisters Connie Roberts and Linda Davis; brother, Harold Perkins; grandchildren, Kylee Perkins and Caleb Perkins, daughter -in-law, Laura Perkins, and lifelong partner, Patty Thompson. Bob is preceded in death by his treasured and beloved son, Rob Perkins, who died earlier this year at the age of 35.
