Sergeant Sanford Strong, San Diego Police Department (ret.) enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1966. 

He joined the San Diego Police Department in 1966 and retired in 1984. 

His law enforcement service includes SWAT, firearms training, lead instructor of Arrest and Control, and supervising detectives.
