Memorial services for Stanley P. Strong, 65, of North Park, will be at 9 a.m. Monday in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Cremation was planned by Goodbody Mortuary.

He died Wednesday in a hospital.  Mr. Strong was born in Connecticut, lived in the county 36 years and had been a San Diego police officer for 23 years, retiring in 1976.  He was an Army veteran of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, in which he received the Distinguished Flying Cross.

He was a member of the Retired Police Officers Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3787 and the Moose.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a son, Michael of San Diego; two daughters, Deborah Woloszyn of New York state and Paula of San Diego; two brothers, Walter and Benjamin, and two daughters, Lorraine Barbeck and Genevieve La Gace, all of Connecticut; and three grandchildren.
