With profound sadness we announce the passing of Bill, a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and husband. Bill passed away on April 6th, 2025 at the age of 77 in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
Born on February 2nd, 1948, in Detroit Michigan to August and Opal Jacobson. Bill lived a majority of his childhood in Michigan and Ohio before entering the US Army in 1967 and continued to live a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He was a devoted family man, a loyal friend and pillar of the community. Bill’s service in the US Army from 1967 to 1969 landed him in Zweibrücken, Germany, meeting his true love Waldraut “Susie” Jacobson, remaining married until her passing in 2018. Bill served within the Law Enforcement Community his entire life as an Ohio State Trooper, Routt County Sheriff’s Department deputy and finally retiring after 23 years as a police officer with the San Diego Police Department.
Bill is survived by his loving family, including two sons; Tim and Eric, daughter in laws Erin & Anja, five granddaughters (Alexis, Kassandra, Tawni, Trista Tyller, and Alicia), six great grandsons (Matthew, Darek, Niko, Oliver, Grayson, and Rylan), one great granddaughter (Madilynn) and soon to be second great granddaughter (Charlee). He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rest in Peace, Bill, Dad, Opa and Opa 2. Your love, wisdom, and legacy will never be forgotten.
