Born January 21, 1938, to Myrl and Margaret Pfahler. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and George. He is survived by his wife, Linda (nee Garfield) of 48 years, son Michael, daughter Corie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In July 1959 he joined the San Diego Police Department. Over the span of 33 years, he worked many details - Juvenile, Special Investigations, Internal Affairs, Vice, and NTF just to name a few.
After his retirement in 1992, he and Linda moved to Leavenworth, Washington where they spent the next 25 years enjoying the beauty of the great northwest, building their dream home, and traveling around the United States in their motorhome. Once it became obvious it was time to park the RV for the final time, they settled down in Sun City West, Arizona.
Bill was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2019. Linda took care of him at home until his death. He fought a long, hard battle.
