Aug. 23, 1937-Feb. 12, 2004, William R. Taylor, 66, of San Diego died Thursday.  He was born in Ironton, Ohio, and was a retired captain in the San Diego Police Department.  He served in the Army.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Taylor; daughter, Linda Johnson; sons, Robert Taylor and Jimmy Taylor; and seven grandchildren.
