Leonidas “Lon” Lafayette Williams III, age 89, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at his home. He was born November 25, 1934, in Dallas, TX, the son of the late Leonidas Lafayette and Wanda Odell Day Williams, Jr.
Lon was a United States Navy veteran. He worked in law enforcement his entire life, serving the San Diego Police Department, also in Oklahoma and Texas reaching the rank of Sergeant. Lon enjoyed music and playing in a band as well as building models in his free time.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Kammy Williams.
Survivors are his wife of 61 years, W. Rose Williams of Gurdon, one daughter, Kecia Hunter of Seattle, WA, and three grandchildren.
