Reier S. Reierson, 80, Rome, Ga., formerly of Fosston, died Aug. 27, 1998, in a local hospital.

Reier Stanley Reierson was born Nov. 16, 1917, the son of Richard and Ella (Thronson) Reierson, in Fosston.

He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.

He retired from the San Diego police department after 27 years.

He moved back to Minnesota, where he was a grain farmer until his second retirement in 1985.

He moved to Rome. He married Carmen Matthew Lloyd.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Patricia Crane, Rome, Connie Hart, Safford, Ariz., and Sandra Gordy, Kennesaw, Ga.; sons, Don, Oceanside, Calif., and Robert, Chicago; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald and David, Fosston; and a sister, Betty LePier, Fosston.
