Chief of Volunteers Muir has a long history of involvment with police. While in college she studied police sciences with the hope of one day becoming a policewoman. Family obligations altered her plans however, Ms. Muir never lost sight of her goal to one day serve her community. 

In her capacity as Chief of Volunteers, Ms. Muir runs the day to day, non director personnel operations for the San Diego Police Museum. 

A former San Diego business owner, Ms. Muir joined the association in 2008 is also responsible for managing the museum gift shop and recruiting and scheduling volunteers.

To date, Ms. Muir donates more hours to the onsite SDPHA museum operations than any non director volunteer. Ms. Muir also plays an instrumental part with hosted events in the museum.
